Best of the Best #10: Wedding Favors

Posted by on Sep 28, 2011 in Blog | 19 comments

Wedding favors have really come a long way…. I remember back in the day when I’d get a pair of tiny glass slippers or a miniature picture frame as a favor. I was always grateful for any favor, but honestly, after a year of storing it in some random cabinet, I considered it “a waste of space” and on to Goodwill it would go.

Well, ladies and gentlemen (do any gentlemen actually read this blog?), times have changed! Now when I’m going to a wedding, I look forward to seeing what creative, nifty, and sometimes yummy, little favors will be given.  And oddly enough, sometimes no favors at all is the best way to go.  Check out some of the best ideas I’ve seen this year:

Can you say yummmy honey?!

This favor is a great DIY project! You could make everything from the jars of
honey the the cute little labels yourself!

I love this favor because it’s so practical! You don’t have to do anything but stick it
outside and watch the birds flock. Amazing!

Plants and herbs as favors!

Plus it makes the favor table look amazing!

Okay, okay, some of you are already thinking “I don’t have a green thumb!”
But give it one more shot! It was a free favor afterall!

bubble wedding favor

Bubbles! A fun DIY!

Another great inexpensive DIY project! And you give the guests something to do!

wedding favors, wedding biscuits

Oh my yum. yum. yum. Biscuits as favors?

Yes. Please. Now. These are tasty little treats your guests will surely enjoy!
Just add a little Southern flare for a down-home style wedding!

Need I say more? The picture does all the talking....

Oh you didn’t know I LOVE,  LOVE, LOVE donuts?! Well where the heck have you been?

And yes, sometimes no favors at all is the best way to go. You can support a charity, honor a family member, and make people’s hearts smile all with one gesture.  Respectable and touching.

  7. I agree also, the more personalized favor or supporting local stores is the best way to go for favors over buying the mass produced online wedding stores or Micheal’s boring wedding favors. (Don’t get me wrong though I love Michael’s Arts and Crafts)
